Dr T Wing Lo is Head and Professor of the Department of Applied Social Sciences at City University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. in criminology from the University of Cambridge (1991). Before joining the academia, he worked with youth gang members of Chinese triad societies on street corners for 17 years. He has been a consultant to the governments of Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Guangzhou, and was invited to address the UN delegates attending the Palermo Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime (2010), and officials of the US Department of Defence (2015). He is Founding Editor of the Routledge Studies in Asian Behavioral Sciences, member of International Advisory Board/Editorial Board of the British Journal of Criminology, Youth Justice, Asian Journal of Criminology, British Journal of Community Justice, and so on. His research interests are triad society, anti-corruption, and offender rehabilitation.

Dr Dina Siegel is Professor of Criminology and Chair of Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology, Utrecht University, the Netherlands. She has conducted research on transnational organised crime, human smuggling and trafficking,  crimes of mobility, Russian mafia and other East European criminal organisations, crime in diamond industry, various activities of Asian organised crime in the European Union, and more. She has published numerous journal articles and  book chapters over the years. She has authored and co-edited a number of books, such as The Mazzel Ritual. Culture, Customs and Crime in the Diamond Trade (2009), Transitional Justice (2013), Traditional Organized Crime in the Modern World (2012), and Ethical Concerns in Research on Human Trafficking (2016). She is a member of the editorial board of Crime, Law and Social Change, Crime, Meida, Culture, and Trends in Organized Crime.
Dr Sharon Ingrid Kwok is Research Fellow in the Department of Applied Social Sciences, City University of Hong Kong, specializing in the study of triad society and Chinese organized crime. She received B.A., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in criminology at the University of Hull (2001), London School of Economics (2004), and City University of Hong Kong (2017) respectively. Being the only female researcher conducting ethnographic research on triad society, she has been interviewed by various international media, such as ABC, CNN, TIME, New York Times, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, and Strait Times etc. on triad related topics. She has published a number of refereed papers and book chapters in the British Journal of Criminology, International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology, Trends in Organized Crime, Handbook of Chinese Criminology, Oxford Bibliographies, and Encyclopedia of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
